Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the enforcement of all laws and ordinances relative to fire safety. Develops and coordinates fire protection programs. Supervises and/or performs inspections of buildings & facilities to enforce safety laws. Investigates complaints and reports of violations of state laws regarding fire protection. Maintain required records both paper and electronic. Update and manage emergency procedures manual. Act as liason between the University and the State Fire Marshall's Office. Make minor repairs to fire doors, exit and egress lighting. Manage fire safety work log. Perform fire drills. Perform training to faculty, staff, and students in fire safety. Keep all training up-to-date. Respond to fire alarms.
Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:
A high school diploma and 3 years fire prevention experience.
Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position:
Cerified Fire Marshall in the State of South Carolina. |
