Responsibilities:
Coordinates creative services requests with internal clients. Proofreads drafts for grammatical and copy errors, obtains print quotes, sends completed files to printer. Coordinates the scheduling of photography requests, provides art direction for photo sessions; sends photos to requesting departments. Provides administrative support to the marketing office such as screening and handling phone calls, scheduling meetings and recording meeting minutes, purchasing and supply requests, and maintenance requests. Also assists with allocating and monitoring departmental budgets. Coordinates advertising activities such as researching media and printing vendors, reviewing quotes and bids, and as delegated finalizing the buying of media and print services. Coordinates ad production with writers/graphic designers, sends final ads to publisher, and maintains advertising portfolio. Writes/edits articles for the Alumni Newsletter, Inside TSU Now, and the TSU web site home page rotation. Performs other job related duties as required.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires good interpersonal and project management skills. Must have the ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
Work Experience:
Requires one to three years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead worker over others in similar jobs and/or provide work leadership and direction for students and/or employees.

Tasks are multiple and diverse with some interrelationship across processes. Handles some unrelated functions. Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents. Some responsibility for budget and expenditure authority.

Contacts usually involve discussions related to policies and programs and may include proposal or grant writing, negotiation with vendors, solicitation of financial donations for the University, and the like. Handles sensitive, complex, and/or confidential information.

Assesses and diffuses problem situations and requires influencing others to reach consensus. Requires tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customer situations. Requires advanced interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships. Explores alternatives and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer.
Working/Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed within routine office environment with no exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Physical demands are usually limited to sitting or standing in one location much of the time. Some stooping, lifting or carrying objects of light weight may be required.
