JOB DESCRIPTION:

The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for conducting molecular and cellular biological, biochemical experiments as well as animal experiments to explore the molecular and signaling mechanisms of a metabolic enzyme called Glutamate Dehydrogenase 1 (GLUD1) on lung cancer cell metabolism, as well as evaluating GLUD1 as a therapeutic target in human lung cancer by developing and evaluating GLUD1 inhibitors. The postdoctoral fellow will also be responsible for conducting molecular and cellular biological, biochemical experiments as well as animal experiments to characterize pRibosomal S6 Kinase 2 (RSK2) as a critical signaling effector in anti-anoikis and tumor metastasis by phosphorylating apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) and cAMP response element-binding (CREB) transcription targets to mediate anti-anoikis and pro-metastatic signals and to test RSK2 in combination with others as an alternative therapeutic target in treatment of metastatic human cancers. Lastly, the postdoctoral fellow will be expected to present data at meetings and help in preparation of manuscripts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidate must hold a doctoral-level degree. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, capable of leading their project, and want to be in a training environment with the goal of becoming an independent investigator.
