Job Description:
The WSI (Water Safety Instructor) is responsible for teaching the learn to swim program provided by the American Red Cross. The Instructor is responsible for ensuring the safety of participants/ patrons utilizing the pool and facility area around the pool, and also teaching their class the Red Cross requirements Duties include: Scanning and patrolling, providing care, providing feedback to participants, encouraging participation in department programs, and the set up and take down of swim lessons. This position reports to the Aquatic Supervisor.
Licenses, registration, or certificates required:
American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED and Life-guarding and The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI). Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills. CPR and First Aid certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferably an individual who has prior teaching experience, possess excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills. Also seeking applicants who are Certified Lifeguards.
