Position Summary: This is a full-time position in Sewing and Apparel Design. Teach courses in clothing construction, fashion design/merchandising, pattern-making, fitting/alteration, formal/bridal design, textiles and related areas. Specific teaching responsibilities can vary depending on the strengths of the successful candidate, but the emphasis is on clothing construction. Throughout their careers, all BYU-Idaho faculty are expected to participate in teaching Foundations (general education) courses on a periodic basis. They are also expected to actively pursue professional development opportunities in learning and teaching and ongoing scholarly development within their discipline.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Master's degree required. Degree(s) required in apparel design and construction, Family and Consumer Sciences or related field. Candidates must demonstrate and document excellence in teaching. Successful applicant must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and eligible for a temple recommend.
Work Schedule: To be determined by department chair.
