Location: This position is located in Renton, WA. Job Description: Summary: This position is responsible for generating prospective students for enrollment into CityU’s academic programs. Facilitates the transition from prospective student to an applicant for admissions by advising students on their options to reach their personal educational goals. Represents the university in the community in order to meet student recruitment goals as established by the university. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responds to new student inquiries in a timely and professional manner by phone, email or in person. Conducts regular and timely follow-up activities for lead inquiries. Conducts telephone interviews to screen initial questions from potential students, qualify potential applicants for admission and to set up campus visits. Conducts in-person campus tours/interview to qualified candidates and to explain CityU degree/certificate programs, financial options and admissions requirements. Effectively addresses students concerns to ensure that all students are aware of their options and financial/academic obligations to their program of choice. Assists new students with admissions application and payment, following outlined university policies and procedures for all new student paperwork processing. Carefully assesses all prospective students to ensure that they will have the academic potential, traits, characteristics and financial ability to remain enrolled until graduation. Maintains full knowledge of CityU’s curricula so that program recommendations can be made to potential students that will be in line with each student’s needs and aspirations. Assists potential students with application for admissions process up to and including obtaining the application fee and all required application paperwork. Fully understands CityU’s financing sources, rule and requirements so that basic eligibility requirements can be conveyed to potential students. Maintains knowledge of effective student recruitment strategies, university academic programs, admissions policies and procedures, including student policies related to Students Rights and Responsibilities and FERPA. Initiates new student contacts within the communities we serve through organized strategies and in collaboration with Academics, Business Development and University Relations departments. Participates in civic, community and business events to promote a positive image of CityU and to obtain leads for student recruitment. Organizes and participates in student recruitment events, including informational sessions, college fairs, trade shows, and corporate/business education fairs to generate leads. Delivers professional and effective presentations to small and large groups with the primary purpose of recruiting new students and secondary purpose of increasing positive awareness of the university. Maintains ongoing communication with established business and educational partnership organizations to ensure continued production of leads, referrals, and create future opportunities. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; master's degree preferred. Self motivated to set and attain goals and to demonstrate ability to meet performance standards and deadlines. Require 3 - 5 years of related experience including proven prospecting, telephone appointment setting, interviewing, closing, customer follow-up and customer service. “Inside” sales experience (outbound calling) preferred. Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines. Must demonstrate a high level of customer service; attention to detail; and organizational and problem-solving ability. Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. General knowledge of business, higher education and technology. Proficiency with MS Office products. Experience working in a PeopleSoft environment preferred. Working knowledge of databases to enter, track and maintain student information. A current Washington State driver’s license and good driving record required. Reliable transportation required. Additional Information: Hiring Range: The hiring range is $32,157 - $36,000 annualized plus complete benefit package including tuition waiver, 15 paid holidays and other paid leaves, medical/dental/vision/life and disability plans and 403(b) retirement plan.
