Yes If yes, maximum budgeted salary available: $30,191 FLSA Status Nonexempt Work Schedule (Hours/Days per week) (Monday through Friday) Some evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate scheduling rotation. Division Academic Affairs Department: Library - Information Commons Work Location Atkins Library Minimum Experience/Education Contributing: Completion of high school and two years experience in office support, preferably as a library technician in a library. Essential Job Duties The essential job duties include but are limited to the following: Teaches instruction sessions at a basic level, including support for First Year Writing and other non-subject based courses. Provides tours and general library orientations to internal and external groups. Provides reference and general research assistance to all patrons, both at the desk and via chat, email, and phone. Refers patrons to appropriate service points within the library, both physical and virtual. Assists patrons in the use of microform reader/printers, scanners, printers, and other library equipment. Other Work/Responsibilities Contacts first-year instructors to provide or obtain information related to library instruction. Responds to requests for program information. Assists in creating online learning tools. Maintains up to date working knowledge of reference tools, library sources & services, and library instruction best practices. Tracks patterns and trends in demand for reference services and in usage of reference collections. Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education The preferred candidate will have a four-year from college or university.
