The Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University seeks an individual to perform a wide range of fund raising and alumni relations activities to support the advancement of the College. The Assistant Director of Development reports to the Director of Development.
The major responsibilities of the position include the development and management of an aggressive and creative Annual Giving Program; coordinate direct mail projects for solicitations and stewardship; development and administration of a program of gift acknowledgement and recognition of donors; and organizational activities to support development operations.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of two (2) years of successful experience in managing events and fundraising activities and in non-profit fundraising including annual fund and major gifts. Experience at a comprehensive university setting is preferred. The position requires strong organizational, written and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Successful candidate will also possess a high level of integrity and leadership skills, the ability to work successfully with a variety of constituents and understanding of major gift principles. The position requires the ability to travel and undertake regular weekend and evening work.
