Posting Number 100433 Job Title Advisor Working Title Advisor Job Type Full-Time Job Category Administrative/Professional Pay Grade/Skill Level AD41 Department Student Success Ctr - Interdisciplinary Studies Essential Functions Academic counseling to students through the assessment of transcripts and developing a plan of study. Meet personally each semester with students to review progress and help in the selection of courses to ensure they are on the right path to graduation. Primary contact point for prospective and current students to provide information on the varied programs offered by the College of Interdisciplinary Studies. Liaison for students, faculty, and staff for program and University requirements for the programs offered by the College. Assists the Director in the presentation of information and implementing retention strategies. Serve on assigned committees. Assist in the collection of enrollment & graduation data for reporting. Assist with presentations and recruitment events. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in education or related field of study. One year of experience in advising or counseling of adult learners. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Excellent computer skills with various office software such as Microsoft Office. Knowledge of database systems, such as Banner. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in education or related field of study. Knowledge of the higher education system and TTU, the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, and RODP in particular. Experience with innovative higher education programs such as accelerated degree programs and online course delivery. Counseling and active listening skills. Critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills. Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD41. Benefits Information Administrative: Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
