Pay Information

Range 16, $2546.00 – $4,134.13 per month based on the current AFT Office Technical salary schedule. New employees will start on Step C ($2,806.97). Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. New employees to PERS will be required to pay 50% of their PERS Retirement costs. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment. The Position

Applications are currently being accepted for a Student Services Assistant in the Student Services Office, located at CE North City Campus. The North City Campus hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Selected candidate would be required to work at least one evening until 7:00 p.m. Please note: Selected candidate must also be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department’s needs.

Desired Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Extensive experience with data management and word processing software (Microsoft Office Suite or similar software).
  • Ability to maintain detailed records and prepare reports using detailed information providing a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced high volume environment.
  • Strong work ethics.
  • Responsible.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to address multiple priorities and to effectively prioritize multiple tasks when needed.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Submit “official” college transcripts as stated on application (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position)
  • Pass a pre-employment physical exam at the District’s expense
  • Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment)
  • Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the candidate’s expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment)
  • Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Attend a new hire processing appointment in Human Resources located at the District Administrative Offices
