Fulfills normal custodial skills, including: trash removal, dusting, restroom sanitation, chemical use and hazards for proper cleaning applications, carpet and floor care, specialized cleaning equipment, etc.
Assists set-ups and break downs for church, Special Events, dances activities, scheduling etc.
Assists with the recycling process on campus.
Develops a good working relationship with students, staffs, faculties and all end users of the building.
Locks and unlocks assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.
Learns the area building lock-up and unlocking procedures, area door opening and policies, area key policies, including key check-out and security procedures.
Learns how and whom to report accidents, who and when to call for emergencies, First Aid kit location and inventory, building evacuation procedures in times of emergencies
Knows proper set-up, take down, and storage of equipment for church, special events and other schedules.
Learns the Lost and found procedures.
Gains proper training of HAZCOM procedures for safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Previous experience in custodial work and minor repair/maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemical products and equipment.
Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
Need to be in good physical condition.
Be able to accurately follow directions from supervisors and understand basic repair techniques.
Be detail and multi-task oriented.
Demonstrate the ability to work without constant direct supervision in cleaning areas of buildings on campus.
Be honest, trustworthy, and be responsible in holding the keys for buildings, classrooms and offices.
Be respectful and possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and demonstrate sound work ethics.
