RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Emergency Services (EMS) Education Faculty is responsible for teaching lecture and practical courses in the EMS program to include EMT Basic, EMT-I, Paramedic, RN to Paramedic, AHA CPR and First Aid, and related health courses. The full time EMS faculty will also serve as a liaison with clinical sites and agencies associated with the program, and carry out all other department and college related responsibilities including advising and participation on college committees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Nationally and Virginia state registered EMT-Paramedic, Bachelor’s degree in Health Care or Emergency Medical Services related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Minimum of several years of recent EMS/Paramedic and teaching experience. Virginia state EMT-B instructor certification and ALS coordinator certification required, as well as AHA/BLS instructor certification. ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and AMLS-Instructor certification preferred. Graduate degree in Education or Health related field preferred. |
