General Summary
The Criminal Justice Program provides students with the opportunity to critically think about, and learn, the foundational knowledge base of the criminal justice system through combining academic theory with experiential application. The Criminal Justice Program has approximately 75 majors with a large percentage of students being interested in law enforcement and related fields. This major leads to a Bachelor of Science degree.
This position is full-time and will begin in August of 2011. Salary and Rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are competitive.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teach courses in criminal justice; advise criminal justice majors; university and department service as required and requested; engagement in scholarly and professional activities; community engagement; integration of faith and learning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
A masters degree in a criminal justice related field or a Juris Doctor degree is required. Candidates must have a commitment to the mission and values of the institution. An earned doctorate, or commitment to obtaining the terminal degree, along with five years of practice experience is preferred.
