Title Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid

Function The Senior Associate Director is responsible to the Director of Financial Aid for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities and business operations of the Financial Aid Office. In addition, the senior Associate Director is responsible for the supervision, management, and training of employees engaged in clerical and specialized financial aid support services.
Responsibilities: -Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Implement, modify, prioritize and coordinate daily office procedures for student financial aid activities.
- Administer quality control procedures used to monitor the financial aid system in order to effectively ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
-Analyze current Financial Aid policies, programs and procedures and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Provide leadership, direction and training to support staff and clearly communicate performance output expectations.
-Notify the Director of any situations and/or problems that arise which may jeopardize or negatively impact the goals and objectives of the university.
- Assume responsibility for the Financial Aid Office and its response to university affairs, emergencies, requests for information or other requirements in the Director's absence.
- Supervise, coordinate, and certify all Veterans Administration Programs.
- Coordinate student accounts receivable activities.
- Present financial aid information to new students and parents at New Student and Transfer Student Orientations.
- Make recommendations (to the Director of Financial Aid) for appointments, promotions, leaves, retention and terminations as appropriate for the Financial Aid Office.
-Attend university meetings as requested in order to disseminate and/or gather pertinent information and facts; serve as the Financial Aid representative.
- Prepare a number of weekly reports including, but not limited to: the FA-22, departmental budget reports, and the student payroll budgets.
-Serve on university committees and/or task forces as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years progressively responsible financial aid experience, 3 years in a supervisory capacity, is required. Working knowledge and experience with federal and state financial aid programs and computerized financial aid systems are necessary. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. The ability to communicate well both orally and in writing is essential.
