Job Description:
This is the top financial position at the university and reports directly to the President. His or her role is to carry out the following tasks: Overseeing financial and accounting system controls and standards; Ensuring timely financial and statistical reports for management and/or Board use; Overseeing all university accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions; Directing financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with and advising the president of the organization with respect to financial reporting, planning, practices, financial stability and liquidity and financial growth; Supervising investment and raising of funds for the university; Maintaining relationships with stockholders, financial institutions and the investment community; Studying, analyzing and reporting on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future institutional growth; Serving as a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet and, as such, contributes to overall organizational planning, policy development and implementation; Providing professional visionary leadership and managerial supervision for the Business and Finance area; and Formulating and/or approving policies and procedures for the management of the physical plant, procurement of goods and personnel services.
Qualifications Desired:
A minimum of 5, preferably 8, years experience in a senior role; preferably, in higher education administration. CPA designation preferred. Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. Up-to-date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications, use of Banner experience preferred. Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills. |
