Longtime supporters and international philanthropists Dana and David Dornsife have given the largest endowment gift in University of Southern California history -- $200 million -- attaching their names to USC's College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in the process.
It now will be called the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences after a ceremony and celebration on March 23.
The couple's investment will support USC's humanities, social sciences and sciences, university president C.L. Max Nikias said in a release, calling the gift "transformational and inspirational."
In addition to naming the college after them, USC also will create a new "Dornsife Scholars Program" for outstanding graduating seniors from the college.
"We trust and have complete confidence in the university's visionary leadership, stellar faculty and outstanding students to not just make a difference, but to effect real and far-reaching change in the world." Dana Dornsife said in a release.
